I once had VirtualDJ installed (thanks to Boozy) which was a pretty cool piece of software.

Back in 2007 though... not sure... iTunes? It's Apple, so it has to be cool.

Klipper. (Linux clipboard utility)

I have it set up to remember the last 512 entries of text that I've highlighted. It is similar to the Windows Clipboard, but this is much more robust. Highlight to copy, middle click to paste. There is also a "search as you type" feature if you want to find a bit of text that you've had recently.

For instance: I want to find a tracking number for a package that I had pasted to someone. I open Klipper and type whatever I remember from that sentence: registered mail, maybe. Klipper shows all recent clippings that match that text and I select the one I want.

It's great.
